My name is Melissa Clopton and I am the owner and chef of Mountain Stir Fry. I live in Durango CO with my 12 year old daughter Sydney. My passion for cooking began as a child; I have early memories of standing on a stool in my Nana’s kitchen watching her cook. When I was 14, I became a vegetarian and that’s when my creativity in the kitchen really took off. Mountain Stir Fry was born during a brainstorm on the beach while vacationing in Mexico in 2008; I launched Mountain Stir Fry that summer. I have been serving food at the Telluride Farmers Market for the past 15 years, Durango Farmers Market for several seasons, as well as local festivals. In June of 2022 I opened the Mountain Stir Fry food truck. My mission is to make delicious, wholesome vegetarian food from scratch using locally sourced and organic ingredients.
